The PDA battery is the heart of the personal digital assistant. It is the power source that allows theses devices to perform all of their intended functions. Without a battery, these machines would not exist.
For the first generation PDA, battery power was supplied through disposable batteries. These batteries were easy to come by, and supplied enough power for the simple functions of these early models. The downside was that they had to be replaced fairly often.
For today’s PDA, battery power comes from a more high-tech, rechargeable unit. These batteries can often last for years, and can be recharged by simply plugging them into a computer or wall outlet. Unlike disposable batteries, these create far less waste as they are rarely thrown away.
