The Hand Stand

PDA Concepts is very excited to announce our brand new MessagePad 2000 / 2100 case, The Hand Stand. It's unique design allows you the ability to carry the Newton and the keyboard in a compact case (only 12" in length, 6"in width, and 3.5" in thickness). This professional carry-all provides a built-in, multi-angle stand (allowing degrees ranging from 5° to 70°) to prop the Newton and also eliminate the normal set up time that is required to use the MP2k and the external keyboard with the loose serial adapter. At last, you can have the functionality that E-mate and laptop users enjoy. To use it you just unzip it, open it, turn on, and type. Plus, you can keep all your stuff in one place!

The Hand Stand's smart design will hold an ID card, 11 credit cards, 2 pcmcia cards / business cards, a stylus, envelopes, folded papers, a phone cord, a spare battery clip, and even the 9W AC adapter. In addition, there is also a secure zippered outside pouch for carrying a checkbook, a pen, and loose items such as cash or receipts. This case is constructed of durable 1250 denier Ballistic nylon (which is more durable than Cordura™) with leather trim. The case is water resistant, stain resistant, and Scotch Guard™ protected. The Hand Stand looks very classy so you will feel comfortable taking it into professional settings. The Hand Stand includes a shoulder strap that can be shortened to double as a handle, making it easy to carry. Future versions may include all leather or all fabric.

For some, there will be times when carrying the keyboard is not desired. The Hand Stand is also perfect for those who do not use their keyboard but need a place to store a print pack and/or an AC adapter as well as other cords. The interior of the Hand Stand is lined with a screen safe soft loop Velcro™ making it very versatile. This Velcro™ serves two main purposes. First of all, and completely optional, if you are using your keyboard you can place the included hook pieces of Velcro™ on the underside of the keyboard to hold it firmly in place (though this is not necessary). You could also place the included adhesive backed hook pieces to the adapter and the print pack so that they attach to the case. Secondly, it provides for future accessories which may become available. Such accessories may be straps that can attach the keyboard to the case or holsters for a print pack, a 9W power adapter, or an extra battery clip. There may also be a clutch type pouch available, to attach to the case, that will hold anything that does not exceed the dimensions of the keyboard. Another idea would be to store the adapter and other items in the Newton keyboard's case and put it in the keyboards place.
